Our athletic program is a part of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and is organized by a parent-led Athletic Board and our LC Athletic Director. Athletic Development Programs for students in grades 4K-4:Ĭompetitive Athletic Programs for students in Grades 5-8: We offer non-competitive athletic development programs for grades 4K - 4th grade and competitive athletic league play for grades 5 - 8. We have a strong tradition of athletics at LC that provides a Christian atmosphere in which every child may pursue growth - emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually - while promoting a sense of community for our families. A list of this month's S.O.A.R.ing students can be found below. The Lumen Christi Athletic Program is a parish-based program available to students who attend our school, our Catholic Formation programs, or a home-based program. During the month of November, we are focusing on the virtue of Charity.ĭuring the month of October, every day during announcements I began recognizing one student from each of our three-grade level teams (3K-2, 3-5, 6-8) whose teacher has witnessed him or her demonstrating behavior in alignment with our virtues. Students are reminded of the virtue and weekly tip during morning announcements, and teachers emphasize the virtues during classroom discussions and activities. Each month’s virtue includes weekly tips or suggestions for students to follow at school and at home as a concrete way to “practice” the virtue being emphasized. S.O.A.R is comprised of 18 virtues which are presented to students in a monthly fashion during a two-year cycle. The program was written over the summer by a team of teachers and is based upon the Theological and Cardinal Virtues. This year we implemented our S.O.A.R ( Safe, On task, Always Respectful, Responsible) program to promote character development in our students. May God continue to bless you and your family, They mean the world to us and we are thankful that we can partner together with you to build compassionate, curious, and courageous learners. Our students make us smile, laugh, and be excited to come to school every day. We had record-breaking attendance this year! It is always nice to see such great attendance at our family events.ĭuring this season of thankfulness, it is important to note how grateful the staff and I are for the Lumen Christi community. Thank you to all our parents, students, and guests who attended our Spooktacular Event this past week. THANK YOU for always taking such good care of our teachers! They are stunned, and without reservation always comment that they have never seen such an amazing spread of food before. Every year I enjoy seeing the faces of our new faculty members when they walk into the lounge for the first time during PT Conferences. Parent Teacher Conferences are a long day for our teachers, and the wonderful food provided by so many of our families is very much appreciated. I know we are all looking forward to spending some time with family and friends at the end of the month.Ī special thank you to our Parent's Association for arranging the food to feed our teachers for last month's Parent Teacher Conferences and for organizing this past week's Spooktacular event. It's hard to believe that the first quarter of the school year is behind us and the holidays are right around the corner.
